Textile / Wearable
About the project
A research project into triangular folding systems as a method for generating three-dimensional wearable form from flat textile. The work maps the structural logic of the fold - testing how geometry, material stiffness and seam placement determine volume, movement and fit on the body.
Each triangular panel is individually cut and bound, then connected through a system of hinges that allows the surface to open, close and reconfigure. The result is a garment that behaves differently depending on how it is worn - flat, volumetric, or somewhere between.
